Our Team

Who We Are

We are a student-led team developing a targeted medication safety solution using synthetic biology.

  • Scientific integrity

  • Patient-first design

  • Responsible biotechnology

Why we built Celluclear

Our team was formed through our school and brought together by a mutual interest in synthetic biology created by a shared Biotechnology class taken a year prior. We are driven by a common goal to apply engineered biological systems to improve medication safety, which led directly to the development of CelluClear.

Dev is in the 11th grade and attends the Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering. He has always been enthralled by how the body works, and one day hopes to go into the field of medical engineering. From a young age he always wanted to be a doctor, so when he learned about how millions of people around the world have trouble metabolizing medicines he wanted to dive deeper. He previously had taken classes about BioTech, so when he learned how genetics play a big role in this he wanted to find a solution. Dev and a couple of his friends decided to research ways to prevent this, which in turn resulted in CelluClear.

Jacob is in the 11th grade and is in his 3rd year at the Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering. Jacob has always had a deep passion for law and business but hopes to major in applied math and later get his J.D. Jacob got involved in CelluClear because of his love for science and the thrill of marketing a new brilliant idea that will improve the world.

Technical, Product Development

Jack is currently in the 10th grade, going through his second year at the Alabama School of Cyber Technology. Jack first gained a passion for Biology once he joined his middle school’s STEM club, where he discovered the extreme biological detail our world actually contains. This snowballed into an exploration of synthetic biology and medical engineering, with hopes of having a future in biotechnology. Jack joined CelluClear because he noticed the need for a better fix to drug metabolism differences, which he knew he could utilize his own expertise to make a reality.

Jude is in the 11th grade and is in his 3rd year at the Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering. Jude has shifted around on his possible career paths and interests, but recently has landed on IP law as a potential future because of interests relating to the intersection of technology and law. Jude got involved in CelluClear because of his previous BioTech class taken with other members of his team which opened his eyes to the combination of technology and biology.
